Services
An initial free of charge meeting is arranged to see whether I can help you achieve the look you desire. It is important that you feel comfortable with me and for a strong collaboration an element of trust should be felt on both sides.
The Interior Design service
A detailed contract is agreed and signed followed by a comprehensive briefing to fully understand your needs, likes and dislikes, in order to create a scheme which works both visually and practically, on time and within budget.
After an accurate measured survey is taken of the space, a design analysis will proceed. This will include any research as to whether planning applications may be necessary and any conservation guidelines or building regulations may apply.
This includes a detailed set of drawing plans of the proposed layout, and elevations to provide efficient solutions to any spatial problems, suggest traffic flow, furniture positions, lighting, electrics and plumbing and any bespoke cabinetry.
To help you visualise the proposed end result, including colour schemes & window treatments, samples are ordered, a sample board created, and any supporting rendered drawings produced.
Once you have agreed the final design, the ordering of fabrics, furniture, furnishings & fittings (passing on trade discounts where possible), liaising with various trades, curtain makers and fitters, scheduling, and the supervision of all installation can begin. Any snagging is included.
Full Interior Design Service including Project Co-ordination
This is preferable where you have little time to handle all the various trades including builders, electricians, plumber and decorators and the designer will effectively coordinate and manage the project. The designer liaises with council planners, building control or conservation, generally making sure that any problems that may arise (such as trade not arriving in the scheduled order or date) are dealt with swiftly and effectively.
In addition to the services already described, the designer will provide full detailed building and decorating specifications, which will help obtain more accurate quotations. At least three quotations are sought, and proof of insurances are obtained, before interviewing the various trades on site and helping to advise you when choosing final contractors. To be able to communicate easily with the contractor and feel confident of their professionalism is taken into consideration when tendering.
Regular on-site meetings are included to make sure the schedule is maintained, and budget is constantly monitored.
Consultant Interior Design
This is for smaller projects where you would like advice on spatial planning, and ergonomics, to assist in planning their own layout, and/or a Colour scheme for a room where fabrics, furnishings and fittings etc. can either be sourced or simply given a shopping list for you to buy at a later date.
Bespoke Designs & Artwork
We can also help you select or commission unique one-off pieces, such as furniture, ceramics, paintings or antiques, liaising with artists, crafts people and galleries.
